A functional prototype product is a working prototype developed from the product's mechanical design. It is divided into planned elements and parts as if it was the final product. These elements have interlinked, fixed, and mechanical connections, flaps, hinges, etc. The functional prototype is usually not made with the targeted manufacturing technology - we use 3D printing methods and other technologies at our disposal.

This is not a stage for testing the mechanical design. The functional prototype or its elements are built along the mechanical design process to ensure every design solution works as intended.

The duration of this stage depends on the complexity of the project.
